Mystery at Pikes Peak Update

The best way to say it, is just to say it. I have had to let the artist, Elisabeth Mkheidze, go. Though I loved her work and thought she captured BMS wonderfully, she missed multiple deadlines over the past year and ghosted me for months. I had to make the hard decision to move on. This was the first time I had to fire an artist and it broke my heart, but it was time. I wish her the best.

After months of searching, I hired Daniela (Dany) Rivera to complete issues three and four of Pikes Peak. Dany has been on my radar for a while, but when I saw her submission to the Mad Cave competition, I knew she would be right for BMS.  Dany officially started working on Nov.4 and has already turned in the roughs for pages 1-12. She anticipates having issue three completed by the end of the year (give or take a week). I am keeping Kaytee on as the colorist to maintain consistency in the look and feel of story.

I have two variant covers already done with art by Yishan Li and Gwynn Tavares. (Yes, I was able to lure her back briefly.)  I will share those later.

My plan is have issue three completed, and issue four off to be lettered, before running another Kickstarter campaign to finish off the story arc. Right now, I’m looking at early Spring 2025.

Vol. 2 Special Edition Kickstarter Ends

Thank you to everyone who pledge, posted, and shared the campaign. We made five stretch goalsand finished strong. If you did not back the campaign and still wish to do so, Late Pledges will be open until November 20. Click here if you wish to back the campaign.

The files are with the printer, and the proofs have been approved. I’m waiting on foil samples for the hardback, and the final quote from the printer. Once funds have cleared Kickstarter and into my account, the printing will be paid for, and then we wait. I’ll be ordering the metal bookmarks next month. That company is located in California, so shipping is quick once they are done.

We are still on track for January 2025 fulfillment.
